About me
German as a Foreign Language (DaF) and Second Language (DaZ) teacher
Studied Modern Languages and Literatures at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, specializing in German and Italian. Spent my fourth year as an Erasmus student at Bergische Universität Wuppertal in Wuppertal, Germany, which sparked a deep connection to the country. With a clear passion for teaching, I returned to Madrid to complete the Master’s of Education specializing in German as a Foreign Language (DaF) and Second Language (DaZ), also at the Universidad Complutense. Since then, I have continued to grow my expertise in German language teaching and to further support this project, I pursued a Master’s in Digital Marketing, which has been instrumental in building and promoting my own online German school.
My experience
My professional experience in language education began at the Bergische Universität Wuppertal, where I studied during my Erasmus year. There, I had the opportunity to contribute to a research project on early trilingualism.
Later, I was awarded a scholarship to work as a Spanish language assistant at a technical school in Bonn, Germany. During that time, I also supported German language classes for foreign students, which sparked my passion for teaching German to people from all over the world. This experience led me to spend several more years in Germany, teaching German as a foreign language (DaF) and as a second language (DaZ) in high schools in Herne and Dortmund.
After seven years in Germany, I returned to Spain, my homeland, to start a new chapter. In Madrid, I worked as a German teacher in schools, academies, and for global language platforms. I discovered my love for online teaching, as it allowed me to combine two of my greatest passions: teaching and traveling. This realization inspired me to create DiDaFtik, my own online German language school.
My lessons
In my lessons, enjoying the learning process is a top priority. I aim to make lessons engaging and fun through interactive activities, gamification, and discussions on current, interesting topics.
For courses, I combine level-appropriate textbooks with my own materials, including games and activities to keep things lively. In private lessons, I tailor my presentations and resources to match each student’s unique needs.
I place a strong focus on speaking skills, encouraging students to practice as much as possible while creating a comfortable environment to build confidence in speaking German.
My hobbies
Traveling is one of my greatest passions. I love exploring new places and cultures, always bringing back new lessons and experiences from each journey. My camera is a constant companion on my travels—I’m passionate about photography, especially landscapes, and enjoy editing photos. Whenever I can, I escape to the mountains to capture the scenery I love most. Another daily must for me is music, and I particularly enjoy experiencing it live. Lastly, I have a strong interest in learning new languages and creating educational materials for my subject.
